Easy Guide: How to Prevent Breast Cancer Through Diet & Lifestyle Changes

The American Cancer Society states that "breast cancer is the most common cancer that women may face in their lifetime. It can occur at any age, but the risk goes up as you get older. Because of certain factors, some women may have a greater chance of having breast cancer than others. But every woman should know about breast cancer and what can be done about it."

So, let's get straight to the point, because I know you want solutions and preventative methods to side step breast cancer and live a long and healthy life.

Dietary Considerations

  • Eat organic, fresh, pesticide free food

  • Eat a primarily Mediterranean diet (more plant based)

  • Eat mindfully and avoid rushing during meals

  • Eat with a 12 hour fast as often as possible (over night)

  • Eat low-glycemic carbohydrates for blood sugar stabilization

  • Eat high fibre and nutrient dense foods

  • Avoid canned food/plastics on food

Specific Foods to Increase in Your Diet

  • Antioxidants (berries, acai, pomegranate, chocolate (very dark), all fruits and vegetables that are dark in pigment/colourful)

  • Legumes

  • Cabbage, brussel sprouts, kale, cauliflower, broccoli

  • Shitake, reishi, turkey tail mushrooms

  • Dark leafy greens

Exercise: Aim for 3-4 times a week, minimum of 30 minutes.

Smoking: Quit. Immediately.
