PRP Hair Restoration
Great for patients with thinning hair or weak hair growth on their scalp, but still have functioning hair follicles. Clients who have lost all their hair cannot use this treatment, as it cannot help new hair grow on a bald area. It can only make your existing thin hair thicker by strengthening the hair follicles. Also, this treatment works best if you are in excellent health, as it uses your body’s own plasma to stimulate hair growth.
If you’re seeking a more natural approach to thinning hair, PRP Hair Restoration is the ultimate biological scalp rejuvenation. Did you know PRP has been successfully used for decades in sport medicine, reconstructive surgery, dentistry, and orthopedic medicine to help speed recovery. But more recently, PRP has been used on the face and body as a skin rejuvenation therapy to improve the skin’s texture, tone, and clarity.
Hair loss, male pattern baldness, and thinning hair can be corrected with PRP Hair Restoration treatments. This non-surgical treatment is a great option for patients who are looking for a natural stimulation of hair growth as well as for those looking to enhance a hair transplant procedure.
First, our medical aesthetician will draw a small tube of blood from your arm. The blood tube is then put into a centrifuge, which spins the tube for 10 minutes to extract the PRP from the red blood cells. Once the PRP is retrieved, our medical aesthetician will inject the PRP directly into your scalp. Small injections of PRP are injected over the treatment area approximately 2cm apart. Some patients experience discomfort and pain during the treatment. To minimize the pain, a topical anesthetic may be used.
Results from a PRP Hair Restoration Treatment, on average, forever; however, you may need to repeat the PRP treatment after a year to maintain the hair growth effects.
POST TREATMENT CARE
After your treatment, you will experience mild redness and numbness of your scalp for a few hours, but you should be able to return to normal daily activities right away. You can shampoo your hair normally. Wait at least 12 hours before exercising and avoid harsh chemical colouring or perming treatments for 72 hours.
