Laser Vein Treatment
Because the Cutera® CoolGlide system features a unique design and long wavelength, our laser vein treatment is excellent for all skin tones. Also, blood blisters or “hemagiomas”, port wine stains and other vascular lesions can be effectively removed. However, knotty varicose veins are not good candidates for this treatment. Your Vitality Skin Expert will explain the best options for you at your Free Skin Analysis.
30 – 60 minutes
All parts of your body including small facial veins (or “telangiectaia”), blood blisters, port wine stains, and other vascular lesions
Our Laser Vein Treatment works by delivering pulses of light energy causing the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel which is then absorbed by your body. Where does the blood go? Blood flow is then redirected to veins deeper below your skin’s surface, where it should be.
During the treatment, you will experience a stinging sensation as the pulses of energy are delivered through the handpiece. How painful the treatment is will depend on your own personal pain tolerance. We usually apply a topical anesthetic prior to your treatment to numb the treatment area. After your treatment, pain should be minimal to nonexistent.
Laser vein treatments are safe, extremely tolerable and produce minimal side effects, making it easy to return to normal activities right after your treatment. The number of treatments you’ll need depends on the amount, colour and size of the vessels being treated. Typically, clients find that one or two treatments are enough; however, every client’s skin is different, and results vary considerably.
You can expect to see significant improvement in most of the treated veins within two to six weeks after your treatment. However, it’s normal for the results not to be noticeable for several months. Please also remember that over time, it is possible for new veins to appear, which can also be removed.
POST TREATMENT CARE
You may experience some redness and/or bruising after your treatment. If you are having larger veins treated, you may develop a tan or brownish pigment for a few weeks or months. We may suggest you wear support hose for a short period depending on the size of the veins being treated. We recommended that you avoid vigorous activities, such as strenuous exercise, for 24 hours after treatment. Also, we advise you to use sunscreen on any treated areas exposed to the sun.
