Permanent hair reduction has never been more safe, easy and effective than with the latest ProWave technology from Cutera®, which delivers a specially tailored light source to give you long lasting results with minimal treatments.
Cutera’s ProWave & Cutera Cool Glide technology overcomes the limits of other IPL technology, making it easier to assist clients with lighter and finer hair and a wide range of skin types due to its improved targeting capabilities. Also, it’s become much faster to treat large areas, such as legs and back quickly. The cooled hand piece increases patient comfort and minimizes the adverse skin reaction commonly seen with other light sources.
Depending on your hair, skin type, and the growth cycle of your hair, you will require 3 – 6 treatments initially and may require maintenance treatments once or twice a year after that. Each hair grows at a different rate and goes through three distinct phases: growth, regression, and resting. ProWave treatments work by disabling the hair that is principally in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter the active growth phase at different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable all the hair follicles in a given area.
POST TREATMENT CARE
You can expect the treatment area to be a bit red and swollen for up to a few hours or a day, depending on your skin’s sensitivity. If the area will be exposed to sun, make sure to wear sunscreen. Otherwise, you can return to your normal activities right away. Three to seven days after treatment you may experience what seems to be hair regrowth. However, most of these hairs are being shed as a result of your treatment and are not growing back. Between treatments you should not wax or pluck your hair, but it is permissible to shave.
